2011 Mazda Tribute Total Car Score Analysis

Long in the tooth and soon to be replaced by a more modern, more car-like crossover, the 2011 Mazda Tribute posts a Total Car Score that is at the bottom of the Compact SUVs and Crossover segment.  
 
Reviewers universally find the 10-year-old design to be behind the times and dislike the hard plastic interior and too-prevalent engine noise. They give the Tribute credit for its useful, roomy interior and peppy engine performance.  
 
On its way out the door, the Tribute had no major changes for 2011.

2011 Mazda Tribute Model Line-Up

The 2011 Mazda Tribute comes in two models and three trim levels. Models denoted i have a four-cylinder engine and the lone s model has a V6.  
 
Trim levels range from Sport to Touring to Grand Touring, with the s only available in Grand Touring trim. The Tribute offers a choice of two engines, a 171-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a 240-horsepower 3.0-liter V6. The front-drive i Sport model comes with a five-speed manual transmisison, and all other models and trims get a six-speed automatic and a choice of front- or all-wheel drive.  
 
EPA fuel economy ratings for the four-cylinder are are 23 mpg city/28 highway and 25 mixed with the manual transmisison, 21/28/23 with FWD and the automatic, and 20/26/23 with AWD and the automatic. The V6 is rated at 19/25/21 with FWD and 18/23/20 with AWD.
