Nissan is ready to play MPG hardball with its competitors, saying that the new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will offer the best fuel economy in the mid-size SUV segment. Nissan said that the redesigned Pathfinder will get 20 city / 26 highway mpg and 22 combined mpg in front wheel drive models, while all-wheel-drive models will get 19 city/25 highway/21 combined mpg.
The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder has changed dramatically from the current model. The body-on-frame truck platform has been replaced with unibody construction resulted in the Pathfinder losing 500 pounds immediately. In addition, the platform switch means that interior space has been dramatically improved with the Pathfinder now featuring three rows of more spacious seating as well as 8 more cubic feet of cargo space.
The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will go on sale this fall with a base price of just over $28,000.
