Ford C-MAX Hybrid Aims at Prius

The Ford C-MAX Hybrid, a Blue Oval product that Ford is hoping will “shake up” the hybrid market, isn’t merely content to launch.

Rather, it is aiming straight for the market leader, the Toyota Prius. And by delivering 47 MPG at a base price of $1300 less than the Prius, Ford is confident.

“The C-MAX Hybrid builds on Ford’s 20 years of hybrid innovation and fuel-efficient offerings to take on Prius v with better city fuel economy at 47 mpg and at better value – a great chance for us to shake up the hybrid market,” said Raj Nair, group vice president, Global Product Development. “C-MAX Hybrid delivers 3 mpg more than Prius v with 50 more horsepower and exclusive technologies such as our hands-free liftgate – and the $1,300-lower base price means the payback period will be the smallest in the segment.”

C7 Corvette Front Fascia Leaked

Earlier this week, Fiat used YouTube to tease a new model--the Fiat 500X. Now the social media giant is being used to introduce looming Corvette design changes.

On accident.

Omega Tool Corporation inadvertently released design details of the 2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette during a promotional video released on YouTube.

The 2014 Corvette will launch next year, with lighter materials, improved aerodynamics (presumably via a revised front fascia), and increased fuel efficiency among the changes.

Lexus LS Flagship Sedan Premiering July 30th

At an invitation-only event in San Francisco at the end of July, Lexus will unveil the 2013 Lexus LS, available in LS 460, LS 460 L long wheelbase, LS 600h L hybrid sedan, and LS 460 F SPORT flavors.

There will also be a live webcast on facebook.com/lexus at 8:30 Pacific on July 30th.

Among the expected changes are improved fuel efficiency, added options, and revised styling cues.
