Hyundai has announced the both the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe (above) and 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT (below), a five-door hatchback, will start at under $20,000.
The 2013 Hyundai Elantra coupe starts at $17,455. The base model GS is powered by the 148 hp, 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe SE, which comes with standard leather seating, power moonroof and sport-tuned suspension, among other features, starts at $19,745. The six-speed automatic transmission with Sportshift is $1,000 extra on either model.
The 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT replaces the Hyundai Elantra Touring wagon. Starting at $18,395, it is also powered by the same 148 hp, 1.8-liter engine and features the best-in-class 39 mpg highway fuel economy when paired with the standard six-speed manual transmission. (The same automatic transmission that is in the Elantra coupe is also available for an extra $1,000.) The new Elantra GT boasts more passenger and maximum cargo space than the Ford Focus, Mazda 3, Toyota Matrix or Volkswagen Golf. Standard features include seven airbags (including a driver's knee airbag), steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, cooled glove box, heated front seats and more.
The 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe and GT begin arriving at dealers this month.
