While spy shots have been floating around the Internet for a while, Kia just officially revealed its redesigned Kia Sorento SUV. The Kia Sorento has a freshened exterior with a redesigned front and rear end featuring new head lights with LED positioning lights, a new tailgate with rear LED combination lamps and new front and rear bumpers.

On the inside, the new Kia Sorento will feature a new LCD instrument cluster, a new center stack with a 7-inch display screen and a new center console. The interior will be available in cloth or leather in either beige or black and more soft touch surfaces will give it a more luxurious feel.

Kia says that the new Sorento will feature "enhanced powertrains for best in class fuel economy with lower emissions" and, while it didn't disclose details yet, they may echo the changes seen in its sibling, the redesigned 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe. Kia says we can also expect improved ride and handling, though it didn't offer any further details.

Kia did not specify what model year designation the new Sorento will have. Information was distributed via Kia's European media site, so it would seem that Europe will get the redesigned Sorento first, which would likely make it a very late 2013 model or an early 2014 model in the U.S.
